“What brought me to Willow House you ask?
It’s 3 years since the death of my first born son, Harrison. He passed away at the young age of 17 years old. His death has been the hardest thing for me to accept and to live through the day to day grief. I found Willow House because a friend of mine called me up the day after Harrison died and said, “You need to call these people.”
So, I picked up the phone and called. I look back at the horrible nightmare of three years ago and it's like the whole event happened to someone else.
I'm the mother of a son who died by suicide.
The survivors of suicide meeting or S.O.S. is not a club that anyone should have to join. In fact, seeing new members breaks my heart. But, Willow House is the only place I can go to where people feel the same way as I do.
Many will never understand what this feels like and I'm very grateful for that, but for the people who have to live through this nightmare, Willow House is the foundation and place to help put the pieces of your life back together after the earthquake of destruction.
I'm grateful a place like this exists.
I'm not who I was but I'm living a new me.”
